Hangzhou metropolitan circle has formed the highway network layout with "four vertical and two horizontal highways, two beltways, and nine connecting ways".
With the arrival of G20 Summit, Hangzhou is soon to pose before the world; at the same time, “Greater Hangzhou” effect will draw the world's attention to cities like Huzhou, Jiaxing and Shaoxing.
After years of rapid transport development, 250 infrastructure construction projects have been put into operation in the Hangzhou Metropolitan Circle, forming a zone accessible by “half-an-hour bulletin train ride” or “an hour highway drive”.
In July 2013, Asia's largest transportation hub - new Hangzhou East Railway Station was officially opened, bringing together a variety of transportation modes—railway, subway, bus, waterborn bus, and long distance coach, enabling a seamless three-dimensional traffic transfer of the principal station. The railway center brings together the Shanghai-Hangzhou, Hangzhou-Nanjing, Hangzhou-Ningbo, Hangzhou-Changsha, Huangshan-Hangzhou high-speed rail lines, forming a “two vertical and one horizontal” high-speed rail transport web. Every day, there are nearly 200 high-speed trains, averagely one in every 10 minutes or less, leave from Hangzhou to the nearby three cities, namely, Huzhou, Jiaxing, and Shaoxing, making the high-speed rail “bus” a reality.
In addition to the railway, the continuous improvements of the highway network also make it easier to travel.
At present, Hangzhou metropolitan circle has formed the highway network layout with “four vertical and two horizontal highways, two beltways, and nine connecting ways”.
